Topic outline

  • Target Audience:

This workshop is for all staff who have completed the “Opening Doors” animation and/or the “Becoming Trauma Informed” E-Learning Module.  Please note that the workshop is delivered with the use of a guided video which can be accessed and used by individuals or in teams by a facilitator, e.g. leader or line manager.

    Aim

The aim of this workshop is to help individuals and teams examine how they work through a trauma informed lens. There are five key pause points for reflection, discussion, planning and commitment.  The workshop will help you reflect upon:

    • the extent to which the people you work with may have experienced trauma, and the impact that might have on your work
    • recognising and celebrating your existing trauma informed practices and how to sustain these
    • Identifying, and making an active commitment to the small changes you can make to help you recognise where someone may be affected by trauma, and respond in a way that limits re-traumatisation and supports their recovery using the principles of trauma informed practice.
