A2 Legislation and Fife Council Procedures

Legislation2This section will provide you with an understanding of what is meant by the term "manual handling", so that you can recognise the types of activities that you are required to carry out as part of your job and that may ultimately cause you injury unless they are undertaken safely.  This section will also outline the health and safety legislation that applies to moving and handling activities and how Fife Council applies this legislation and the procedures that you as an employee need to know about and understand.  Non-Fife Council employees should familiarise themselves with their own organisational policy and procedures.
